Pinned!

So, from my recent posts (like this one or that one) you may get the idea that I am on pinterest all day long, which is not entirely accurate. Everyday? Yeah. Pretty much. All day? Not quite. I do still manage to feed and dress my children, thank you very much.

Anyway. There are a few pinterest-themed parties I wanted to link up to, so at the risk of completely undermining my claim that I do other things besides pin, let's talk pinterest! Here are a few of my recent faves:

Just found this one this morning. So amazing. Totally inspiring.

Trying to figure out how to use these cute and clever cookie bowls for little bug's birthday bash.

This is not a new pin, but it is still one of my favorites. So beautiful!! I have been unable to track down the original source (which is one of the downsides of pinterest). If anyone knows where it originated, let me know. [Update! JLR22 has found the original source for me--and taught me something new about finding image sources! (Thank you, JLR22!!) This beauty came from Milk Magazine.] Also. Can we make this? Please? Let me know when you figure out how to do it.

I'm thinking of making a version of this for the birthday outfit. Jess at Craftiness is not Optional has some great tutorials. This one was part of the pleat weeks at See Kate Sew, which I am totally eating up. Will there be pleats in the birthday party? Totally! Um... I hope so. (What is the crafting equivalent of having eyes bigger than my stomach?)

I've got a lot of boy baby showers coming up. This is too cute, right?
B is for Boy

There you have it! What have you been pinning?

  2. Refrigerate the dough after you've put it on the tins, but before you bake it for 30-60 minutes. Make equal amounts of cookie bowls and regular cookies. Fill the bowls with whatever, place on top of cookie. Use frosting to pipe on red wings with brown ladybug spots, and candy or licorice for legs and antennae. Might be too much work, but it was all I could come up with for the ladybug theme. (Mini tins and cookies might be easier for little ones to handle.)

And that crown looks like you could take a piece of sturdy poster board, draw a crown design on, cut it out, and paint it. Decorate it with jewel stickers and ribbon. Then glue a round piece of red felt inside, and red fabric for straps.

    Just thoughts.

  4. In response to your asking about the source of the lovely girl wearing the crown, I did a google image search and it is from the Kids' Fashion Magazine MILK, their Jan. 2011 issue here: http://www.milkmagazine.net/serie-de-mode-nord-way/ Photos: Carol Sandie Dougnac. Style: Hélène Lahalle/. Pictures taken in Rosendal (Norway). I so believe in giving sources credit that I have installed google image search on my toolbar. All I have to do is right click on any image and it shows me where all the images of that photo have appeared. I use it constantly to make sure my images are being used in a way I would approve of :)

  5. @Five of US Thank you for all of the great suggestions! I kept thinking of the crown as metal, but metallic spray paint would totally work. You, smartie, you! The cookie bowl bugs would be cute too. It sounds like you have made the cookie bowls before. Did you like them?

  6. I have a cheap/lazy mind. {: And I haven't made them, but I've heard if you don't want choc chip cookies to spread out, they need to be cold. They'll keep the shape a little better. I dunno. Good luck though. And your blog is amazing, by the way. I see your projects trending on Pinterest all the time!
